As a retired veterinary technician, I am aware of how heart breaking it is to have a pet that is not healthy. When I started California Corgi Butts, I made it my mission to provide owners with AKC dogs that are genetically clear of debilitating health conditions, orthopedically sound, and have outstanding personalities.

Responsible Breeding Program
A responsible breeding program starts with responsible ownership. All of the dogs at California Corgi Butts live their best lives. We allow our dogs access to 35 acres of ranch land. They are not kept in cages/crates all day, they are members of the family.
Each breeding dog is genetically screened for Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), von Willebrand’s Disease, type 1 (vDM1), and Exercise-Induced Collapse (EIC) to ensure that they do not have any debilitating conditions that could endanger them or their offspring from having long healthy lives.
At 18months, our males and females have radiographs taken of their hips so that we know that they and their offspring will not suffer from hip dysplasia.
